      INTERNATIONAL  JAMBOREE  2009

 

The World Jamboree was a great success.  We must now do all we can to maintain an interest in attending the World Jamboree in Sweden in 2011.

 

We are going to mount a county ‘expedition’ to an international event in the UK in the summer of 2009 as a possible stepping stone for both Leaders and participants. A number of events are already planned and information is already available. The first step in this process is obviously to find a leadership team to mount this venture.

 

We are therefore opening the opportunity for Leaders to apply to become the principal leader or one of the leadership team for this venture. There are no restrictions as to which section a leader may come from, but a readiness to find an event and lead a contingent to this event are the credentials we are looking for. The age range of the participants will most probably be from within the Scout section.

 

The role will include the selection of participants, their possible training, depending on experience; budgeting; transport; planning equipment and catering; first aid; administration and all that goes with managing a unit-possibly made up of mixed gender, at a large camp.

 

To apply, do so in writing to Paul Raine ACC Scouts before June 1^st 2008. You should provide a short Scouting CV with any relevant experience and explain why you think you could provide effective leadership for such a venture.  Selection will be by interview with a panel made up of suitably qualified personnel from within the County structure.
